    Non quarterlies

So, who here is perverse enough to trade the non quarterlies? I have myself some longs in IX9 that will probably be running to expiry, but it has generally been quite disappointing as the non quarterlies go.

Thinking of starting a club for us... there's not many of us after all...

Only been trading since the summer, but I did make a bit in IV9. Been tempted to buy IX9 recently, but there seemed to be a seller meaning 28s weren't really trading, so hardly any opportunity to get a profit intraday - at least not yesterday, think they traded more today iirc. Unfortunately can't really hold positions overnight, otherwise I'd love to load up on 27.5s and hold till Monday.

Do you trade them for the whole month before expiry? I've always had the "real" front month up, but haven't really seen many opportunities until close to expiry.

I leave em till after the presser personally... the interesting thing about the seller yesterday (and slightly today) is that open interest increased by virtually the volume of what he was putting on so trying to work out what he was up to in opening a position. Hopefully it's just a hedge of some OTC thing (netting the latter out) rather than devious foreknowledge of something major going to happen soon.

If you're not prepared to run them overnight there are going to be many less opportunities in them, any reason you're not happy to?

    Edit: And yeah I'm long X9 275 and 280...

Only been trading since fairly recently, so haven't really built up the account yet. Did get permission to hold some overnight though, and managed to buy some 27.5s early Wednesday morning - out of them now, since I doubt there's enough upside remaining to merit the (admittedly small) risk.

Where do you get your open interest figures?
