    Re: Newbie Journal...........

Guys, thanks for the input. its been a bit of a baptism of fire last couple of days with all these "will they wont they" statements on the Greek Bailout confirmation.

Just started on one lot so the losses haven't wiped me out! Yet!

Anyone have success staggering there exit from winning positions? I.e 5 lots on, 3 lots pulled at target one and let 2 others run?

    Re: Newbie Journal...........

I have never been a fan of targets for taking profits, and haven't used them. To me, that's saying I can predict the future.

I do not think this is the same as having an exit point if you're wrong, as you're not pedicting anything here, but simply defining how much adversity you'll accept before closing the position.

But to answer your question, I'll take some of a position off if we get a very fast vertical move in my favor, then wait to see if the rest should be held or dumped as well - no hard, fast rules on doing this.

Again, just my personal 2 cents worth...

    Hi propcircle,

THings have been progressing nicely since I went live 5 weeks ago. Horrible first week, steadied the ship week two and results improving last couple of weeks. Currently just sticking to directional bund trading with the odd spread thrown in. Bund has been dead last couple of days ahead of FOMC this evening. Hoping we'll see some action for the rest of the week as the minutes are digested.

I noticed you are U.S based? Do you trade treasuries? any thoughts on what the next week or so will hold for them?

nice move north in bunds today. seem to take a few stops at a few short term levels. to my knowledge it was driven up by the greek auction dissapointing and US gov announcement re: citigroup. Anything else involved in there? Do we think this move north will last coming into NFP fri and last weeks over supply issues?
